In the 1870 census of Speedwell Twp., Wytheville, P.O., Wythe Co., VA, Robert and his family were still in farming. In 1880, they were living on Railroad Avenue, Wytheville.
Children of Robert and Amanda were: Albert Pendleton Calfee; Margaret E. "Maggie" Calfee (1851-1905), 3rd wife of Rufus Brown, md. 1890; Julia Oakley Calfee (1853-1886) md. 1879 Zachariah Samuel Cecil; Leander Davis "Lee" Calfee (1862-1920) md. 1907 Sarah Margaret Crockett; Rhoda Calfee (1865-1896); and William Anderson Calfee (1857-1858).
The family burial ground has not been located.
