Mrs. Edward D. Ruble
Mrs. Dorothy Staton Ruble, 78, of Rt 1, Hill Crest Farm, died Thursday at 7 pm
at Lynchburg General Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Staton and
the late Nora Lawhorne Staton. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist
Church and a member of Poplar Forest Garden Club.
She is survived by her husband, Edward D. Ruble, two sons, Edward Ruble,
Jr. of Lynchburg and Estern H. Ruble of Buena Park, Calif, one daughter,
Mrs. Louis Roberts of Lynchburg, one brother, Larnie G. Staton of
Evington, five sisters, Mrs. Sell Ewers, Mrs. John B. Kitchens and Mrs.
Earl Wingfield, all of Lynchburg, Mrs. Vernon H. Padgett of Forst and Mrs.
Edith Padgett of Royal Oak, Mich, 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Virginia Funeral Chapel
with interment in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 pm Sunday and
at other times at their hom, Rt 221, Hill Crest Farm.
