Obituary: Natividad Edulia Quintana Gallegos

Quintana Gallegos Tiva passed away Sunday morning, October 21, 2001, at the University Hospital due to complications of a stroke. She was surrounded by her family.

Born Sept. 12, 1928 in Silverton, CO., daughter of Abran and Porfiria Quintana. Graduated from Silverton High School. Married Charles M. Gallegos April 15, 1946 in Aztec, New Mexico; they were later married in the Catholic Church in Bingham Canyon, Utah. Tiva ran the boarding house in Lark, Utah for many years until the mine shut down.

She retired from National Semiconductor after 15 1/2 years. She was currently employed by Smith's on 9000 S. 4000 W. in the bakery department.

Tiva is survived by her husband of 55 years; one daughter and five sons, Charlie (Teresa) Brownsmills, New Jersey; Gerri (Ted) Unsworth, Taylorsville; Sammy (Marie), West Jordan; Danny (Kim), Copperton; Robert (Alma), Copperton; Julian (Francine), Midvale; sisters, Rebecca McCauley, Fairbanks, Alaska; Bernice Snowden, Sheperdstown, West Virginia; brother, Abe Quintana, Waldport, Oregon; 30 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins whom she all loved. Preceded in death by her parents; three sisters and three brothers.

The family would like to thank the staff on the 3rd floor Neurological Critical Care Unit at the University Hospital.

A memorial service and Rosary will be held Thursday, October 25, 2001, 10 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where friends may call Wednesday, October 24, 2001, 6 - 8 p.m. and

Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
