BARTHOLOMEW (BART) QUINTANA

MIDVALE--Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Bartholomew (Bart) Quintana, age 59, passed away August 7, 1994 at home following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born December 20, 1934 in Rosa, New Mexico, eldest son of Abran and Porfiria Read Quintana. Graduated from Jordan High School, 1954. Married Genevieve Lopez on December 20, 1958.

Bart served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army, member of the 82nd Airborne Division, Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. He retired with 32 years as a welder for Kennecott Copper Corporation. He was an active member St. Therese Catholic Church, volunteer Parish Food Bank Director, Men's Club; staff member Catholic Community Services/St. Vincent DePaul Center. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and priceless hours with his grandchildren.

Survived by his wife, Genevieve; daughters, Jennifer Gallegos and husband, Richard L.; Valerie Quintana; grandchildren, Alexis and Matthew Gallegos. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Stella; brother, Donald.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 11, 1994 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Therese Catholic Church 75 E. Lennox Street, Midvale. Rosary and Vigil Service Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. at St. Therese Church. Friends may call at the church Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30-10:15 a.m. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Catholic Community Services and St. Therese Food Bank. We would like to thank everyone for their many prayers and loving support, including the doctors and staff at the Salt Lake Oncology Center.
