Samuel George Carney, 90, Scranton, died Wednesday in an Overbrook rest home where he had been several months. He was born Jan. 5, 1885, at Scranton and spent most of his life in the Scranton community. He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Scranton. He was married to Agnes Andreen March 7, 1906. She died in 1970. A daughter Mrs. Beulah Holte, died in July 1975. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Agnes Anderson, Overbrook, Mrs. Helen Bentley, Topeka, and Mrs. Florence Ball, Stanton, Neb.; a son, Clarence Carney, Topeka; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Services were Saturday in the United Methodist Church at Scranton. Burial was in Scranton Cemetery. OCJFP 1 Oct 1975
