Mrs. John Carney Obituary.

Lovinia Willie Harris was born in North Carolina March 4, 1861, the day of Lincoln's inauguration as president of the U.S. She departed this life April 15, 1932, which was the 67th anniversary of Lincoln's death, at the age of 71 years, 1 month and 11 days.
When about 14 years of age she with her family moved to Scranton, Kansas, where she was married to John B. CARNEY, August 18, 1880. To this union eight children wer born, three of whom died in infancy, another in manhood.
She made confession of Christ and joined the Methodist Episcopal church in youth, to which she was a faithful attnedant throughout life.
Mrs. CARNEY's major interests in life were her family and her church, for which she willingly devoted her time and thought.
She lived an active life until one year ago last October, when she suffered a paralytic stroke from which she never fully recovered, another stroke followed which terminated in death.
She is survived by her husband, John B. CARNEY, and four chidlren, Mrs. Mary BLACKBURN, Mrs. Beatrice KRALLMAN, Sam CARNEY and Will CARNEY, all of Scranton, also nineteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, two sisters, Mrs. Mary A. FALL of Sacremento, Calif., and Mrs. Bessie JONES, Pittsburg, Kansas, two brothers Will and James HARRIS both of Grass Valley, Calif., besides numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Sunday April 17 at 2:30 p.m. Interment in the Scranton cemetery.
