MRS. TABBIE PHILLIPS DIES AT HOME OF SON IN LA PLATA SUNDAY
Mrs. Tabbie Elizabeth Phillips, 76, died at the home of her son, Claude Phillips, east of La Plata, Sunday.
Born in La Crosse, Missouri, June 22, 1880, Tabbie Elizabeth Bonifield was the daughter of Charles and Mandy Bonifield.
On Jan. 12, 1896 she was married to Silas Phillips. Three children were born to the couple, two of whom survive. The children are Lillie Dawdy of Sycamore, Illinois, and Claude Phillips of La Plata.
Other survivors include three grandsons, Kenneth Dawdy and Raymond Dawdy of Sycamore, Illinois, and Tommy Phillips of La Plata; two step-daughters, Mrs. Virgil Greer of Creve Couer, Missouri, and Mrs. Ray Farr of Kirksville; an uncle, William Griffin of Elmer, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Della Phillips and Mrs. Lillie Nelson, both of La Plata.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 27, 1927. She was married to William Phillips in 1930 and he preceded her in death in Jan., 1952. Two sisters, two brothers and her parents died before her.
She was a member of the Baptist church.
Funeral services were Monday afternoon at the La Plata Baptist Church. Burial was in the Shumaker Cemetery with the Wilson Funeral Home in charge.
