ELMER WOMAN DIES AT HOME OF SON
-FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. AMANDA RICKEY WERE HELD AT ELMER
Mrs. Amanda E. Rickey, aged 75, died at the home of her son, Charles M. Bonifield in Elmer, Monday night, Feb. 22, after an illness of several weeks.
Amanda E. Griffin was born near La Plata, in Macon County, Feb. 8, 1857. Her first marriage was to Charles Bonifield, who died many years ago. To this union were born five children, Mrs. Tabbie Phillips of Kirksville, Mrs. Etta Moore of Atlanta, Mrs. Della Bloss of Ottumwa, Iowa, Charles M. Bonifield, with whom she made her home, and William P. Bonifield, deseased. She was married about 15 years ago to Alex Rickey and they lived south of La Crosse. Mr. Rickey died Sept. 8, 1931, and since his death she has made her home with her son in Elmer. She also leaves three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Lydia Kessinger of La Plata, Mrs. Ella Truitt of Elmer, Mrs. Laura Hatfield of Nevada, Missouri, Jesse M. Griffin of Binger, Oklahoma, Charles L. Griffin of Seminole, Oklahoma, and William P. Griffin of Elmer. There are several grandchildren.
Mrs. Rickey had been a member of the Baptist church for many years.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in Elmer, Wednesday afternoon and burial was made in the Morris Cemetey near La Crosse.
