Mr. Shellie B. Givans, 79 years old, of Brandenburg, Kentucky, died Wednesday, April 24, 1974 at Medco Center, Brandenburg, Kentucky.

He was born April 12, 1895 a son of George P. Givans and Edna Jupin Givans.

He is survived by eight children, Mrs. Hayward (Willo B.) Wardrip, Mrs. Alex (Josephine) Givans, Mrs. Alex (Wanda) Halbert, Daymon Givans, Vernon G. Givans, and Shellie Givans, Jr., all of Brandenburg, Ky., Mrs. William(Imogene) Miller, Fort Charlotte, Florida, and Mrs. Perry (Viola) James, Marion, Ky.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Edna G. Greene, and Ms. Lorene Givans, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; three half-brothers, Robert Givans, and Freeman Givans, both of Indianapolis, Ind, and Clifford Givans, of California; four nephews, two nieces, 29 grandchildren and 42 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 27,1974 at 11:00 a. m. from Bethel Methodist Church with Rev. Kenneth Idle and Rev. McGranahan officiating. Interment was in the Church Cemetery directed by Hager-Wright Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Gary Halbert, Bill Miller, Steve Givans, Ronnie Shoulders, Randall James, and Fred Howard Wardrip.
