Mr. Max W. Givans, 68 years old of Route 2, Brandenburg, Kentucky died July 24, 1961 at Veterans Hospital, Louisville, Kentucky. He had been in ill health for some time.

He was born March 3, 1893 in Meade County a son of George P. Givans and Edna Jupin Givans.

He was a veteran of World War I, a member of American Legion Post 162 and a member of Bethel Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Iva Wright Givans; one daughter, Mrs. Haxel Givans Wilkinson of Fort Eustis, Virginia; four grandchildren; two brothers, Mr. Shellie Givans of Brandenburg and Mr. George Givans of Louisville, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held July 26th at 2 p.m. at Bethel Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. W. L. Lee. Burial was in the church cemetery, directed by Wright Funeral Home. Masonic rites were conducted at the graveside by members of Harrison Lodge No. 122 F & A.M., Masonic brothers were pallbearers.
