Abigail Mahurin, the youngest of ten children of Stephen Mahurin, Sr. and Sarah (Meeks) Green, was born on December 29, 1817 in Grayson County, Kentucky. Her siblings were Elizabeth, Sarah, Phebe, Silas, Frederick Priddy, Candace, Susannah, Stephen Peter and William Harmon.

Abigail Mahurin and Isaac Harrell Dewees, the son of Edward Dewees and Rutha Elizabeth Harrell, were married on January 5, 1841 in Grayson County, Kentucky. Isaac was granted 60 acres on Spring Fork in Grayson County that was surveyed on December 18, 1843. They were the parents of the following children, who were born and wed there:

Isaac Harrell Deweese, Sr. died on December 21, 1878. Abigail Mahurin Deweese died on June 21 1882. They are the only two known burials in this private cemetery near Pine Knob in Grayson County, Kentucky. It is probable that they are buried on their land that was surveted in 1843.
