Mary Davidson was the daughter of Lewis Davidson (b. 1749 in Sussex County, Delaware and d. 1814 in Fort Cumberland, Maryland) and Nancy Todd (born in England). Mary was born in Allegany County, Maryland on Sept. 23, 1778 and might possibly have died on Sept. 27, 1840 in Hartford City Blackford County, Indiana (According to Davidson family documents, she passed away while visiting relatives there.) Mary married her first cousin Lewis Davidson (b. Mar. 23, 1773 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania and d. Oct. 10, 1832 in Harrison County, Ohio). [Since there there are quite a few Lewis Davidsons throughout the family line, it might be helpful to note that this Lewis was a son of William "Ranger" Davidson (b. Nov. 20, 1747 in Sussex County, Delaware and d. Nov. 16, 1811 in South Point, Ohio) and Rosanna Hutchinson (may have been born in Wales).] Mary and Lewis were married in July of 1798 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Their children included the following: William H. (b. Nov. 1799), Nancy, Rosanna, John S., Mordecai W., Susanna (married Robert A. Latham), Mary, Jesse, Thomas L., Joseph C., Jonathan S., and Lewis Hutchinson (b. Feb. 23, 1809 and who thankfully provided many of the details listed here).
