J B Anderson, Tech Sgt. USAF (Ret.). age 95, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at William R. Courtney Veterans Home in Temple.

Graveside services with Air Force Honors, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Scott's Funeral Home, Gatesville, Texas.

JB was born on April 22, 1923 in Levita, Texas, to the late Henry Leslie "Boss" Anderson and Bessie Davis Anderson. He grew up and attended school in Levita. He joined the service and served his Country honorably. He was in the Army Air Corp, now known as US Air Force. He served with the 14th Air Force Flying Tigers. Mr. Anderson's specialty code was a Propeller Technician and he went on to train many new recruits. He was a veteran of WWII and Vietnam, where he served two tours.

In 1949, he married his late wife Laura Lou Cook. While he was stationed at Randolph AFB, He adopted his only daughter, Luci. He retired while stationed at Dyess AFB after more than 20 years of service in 1972. He then worked for Abilene State School as a maintenance technician and retired after 12 years of service. In 1988, they moved to Gatesville. His wife preceded him in death in 2005. JB was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gatesville.

Mr. Anderson always enjoyed working in the yard, helping others and fixing everything he could even when freezing cold outside. He was always there to help someone. But his pride and joy was always his daughter, grandson and in recent times his great-grandson.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Cox and Sybil Jones; and a brother, Mack Vernon Anderson.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his daughter, Luci Stucker and husband, Lee Stucker; brothers, Davis Anderson, James Anderson; sister-in-law, Betty Anderson; grandson, J J Johnson; stepgrandsons, Michael and Chris Stucker; one great-grandson, five step great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
