Mack was born in Colorado City, Texas, to the late Henry Leslie Anderson (known as Boss) and Johnie Bessie (Davis) Anderson. Mack went to school in Levita and at Gatesville High. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1946 retiring with 20 years of service. He also worked for A. O. Smith, National Trailer Convoy and then for Loomis Armored for 15 years. On May 10, 1949, he married Loretta Mae Baenen. On April 16, 1960, Mack married Betty Jean Boykin. He moved to Waco in August of 1966. He was a member of the Bellmead First Baptist Church. Mack was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with family and doing things with his hands. Mack will be remembered as a gentle man with a big smile and a great sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Loretta; a daughter, Claudine Noel; and grandchildren, Toni Lynn Dove, Brian Anderson and Trinity Neil Dove.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Betty Jean Anderson, of Bellmead; daughters, Patricia Hargrove, of Blum, Pamela Wilson, of Chalk Bluff, Bethea Dove, of Chalk Bluff, and Paulette Anderson, of Waco; sons, Mack V. Anderson, Jr., of China Spring, Raymond Anderson, of Lorena, Paul Anderson, of China Spring, and Brian Anderson, of Waco; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Syble Jones, of Gatesville, and Edith Cox, of Longview; and brothers, J. B. Anderson, of Gatesville, Davis Anderson, of Fort Worth, and James Anderson.
