MARY J. SWEITZER, GLEN ROCK: Mary Julia Sterner Sweitzer of Leaders Heights, formerly of Glen Rock, died at 8:10 a.m., December 9, 2000 at York Hospital after a brief illness. She was 91.

Mrs. Sweitzer retired in 1975 from Southern York County School District, Glen Rock, where she was a cook for more than 23 years at Susquehannock High School. Before that, she worked at the former Hungerford Packing Co., Shrewsbury. She was a member of Shrewsbury Church of the Brethren, where she was a member of the Sunday school and Women's Fellowship of the church. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary at the Brethren Home at Cross Keys.

Born in Manheim Twp., York Co., on May 18, 1909, she was a daughter of the late Ira M. & Lydia Baugher Sterner. She was the wife of the late Samuel K. Sweitzer, Sr.. She leaves two daughters, Gladys M. Smith of York and Frances L. Fuhrman of Glen Rock; a son, Samuel K. Sweitzer, Jr. of Glen Rock, four grandsons and 10 great-grandchildren.

Viewings are 7 - 9 p.m. today, (Dec. 11, 2000) at the Geiple Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Glen Rock and 10 - 11 a.m. tomorrow at Shrewbury Church of the Brethren with her Pastor the Rev. John S. Weyant officiating. Burial is in Bowser's Cemetery, New Freedom, Pa. Memorial contributions may be made to Glen Rock Ambulance Club, 59 Water St., Glen Rock, 17327; or to Shrewsbury Church of the Brethren, 209 S. Main St., Shrewsbury, Pa. 17361.
