SAMUEL K. SWEITZER - GLEN ROCK: Samuel K. Sweitzer, 75, husband of Mary J. Sterner Sweizer, Glen Rock, RD 3, died at 12:25 a.m., Sunday,(October 31, 1976) at York Hospital.

In 1940 Mr. Sweitzer was elected minister in the Codorus Congregation Church of the Brethren. He later served the Shrewsbury Congregation of the Brethren until 1965.
Mr. Sweitzer worked 50 years as a sewing machine mechanic. He had been employed by South Pine Nightwear, Seven Valleys Garment Co., Savada Brothers, Glen Rock and Hoffackers Sewing Co., New Freedom and retired in 1968 form D & D Sewing Center, York. He was a formerly secretary and served 15 years as a member of the Shrewsbury Twp. School Board. He was a member of Shrewsbury Church of the Brethren.

Born in New Freedom, he was the son of the late Henry Z. & Martha M. Keeny Sweitzer. Surviving also are three children, Mrs. David W. (Gladys) Smith, Glen Rock, RD 3; Mrs. Joel J. (Frances) Fuhrman, Glen Rock, RD 3; Samuel K. Sweitzer, Jr., Glen Rock RD 3; four grandsons, Sister Mrs. Mary Shaffer, Shrewsbury and a brother,William C. Sweitzer, Ridgeway, Virginia.

E. Gerald Thompson, moderator of Shrewsbury Church of the Brethren, and Richard L. McWilliams, minister at Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, Winterstown, will officiate at the funeral services Wednesday (Nov. 3rd) at 10:30 a.m. from the Shrewsbury Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in Bowsers Cemetery, New Freedom, Pa.
