CANKTON ~ Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Berchmans Catholic Church in Cankton for Roy Guidry, age 79, who passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 at his residence in Church Point.
Interment will be in St. John Berchmans Cemetery in Cankton. The Rev. Ken Domingue, pastor of St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Mr. Guidry was a native and lifelong resident of Church Point. He was a parishioner of St. John Berchman Catholic Church in Cankton. Mr. Guidry was a self-employed owner and operator of Roy Guidry Trucking.
Survivors include one son, Thad Damian Guidry of Church Point; one daughter, Angie Dorsett and her husband, Scott, of Richmond, TX; two sisters, Rita Neupurt of Hammond and Ena Thibodeaux of Carencro; and four grandchildren, Andrew Joseph Dorsett, Gabrielle Marie Dorsett, Elizabeth Ann Dorsett and Kristin Renee Dorsett.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Stutes Guidry; his parents, Ignace Guidry and the former Rose Bergeron; and two sisters, Mercedes Arceneaux and Earline Bordelon.
