Daniel Albert Stewart, age 92, of Mattoon passed away at 10:28 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital.

Graveside Services with Military Rites honoring his life will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Daniel was born on March 18, 1926 in Cumberland County the son of John Wesley and Elizabeth (Thornton) Stewart. He Nedra Ann Wisher on May 1, 1971. She preceded him in death on May 26, 2014.

Survivors include his son, Daniel L. (Frosina) Stewart of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Shannon (Les) Willoughby, Shane (Crystal) Stewart, Shayla (Tony) Leavitt, Stefan Stewart, Bri-Anna (Martin) Mahle and Dillon Stewart; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Daniel served honorable in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in England during the 1950s. Daniel will be remembered as a wonderful father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
