Walter William Kahler, 89, Rt. 2, Gillett, died Thursday at a Gillett nursing home. He was born April 4, 1895 in Underhill, Oconto Co., to the late Charles and Anna Kahler.

Mr. Kahler attended Linzy Brook School, and lived and farmed in the Gillett area for most of his life. On July 23, 1919 he married Olanda Piepenburg in Menominee, Mich.

Survivors include his wife, Olanda, Rt. 2, Gillett; one son and daughter-in-law, Harold H. and Donna Kahler, Kaukauna; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marvel and Robert Elve, Green Bay: Laurene and Glen Thielke, Lakewood; one brother, Martin Kahler, Townsend; three sisters, Mrs. Ila Bletsch, Merrimac; Mrs. Elsie Kasten and Mrs. Linda Mitchell, both of Chicago, Ill; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Two brothers and his parents preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Kuehl Funeral Home, Gillett, from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and after noon Sunday until services. funeral 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Busker officiating. Burial in Wanderers Rest Cemetery, Gillett.
