HARVEY A. HAMMEL DEAD

Services to be Held Friday at Residence on Walnut Street.

Mr. Harvey A. Hammel, 61 years old, died at his home at 1:30 o'clock of complications from which he had suffered for several years.

Born in Scott county, he lived on a farm for a number of years before coming to this city. He was a son of William and Jane Hammel and was the husband of Mrs. Minnie Hammel.

Surviving besides the widow is a daughter, Mrs. Earl Sauer, in Ripley county, four grandchildren, Richard, Jean, Elane and Donald; a sister, Miss Sadie Hammel, in this city, and several nieces and nephews, among whom is Edward Adams, of Woodland, Mo., who is expected to come here for the funeral services.

Early in life he united with the United Presbyterian church, later becoming a faithful and loyal member of the Second Presbyterian church with which church he continued a member when it merged with the First Presbyterian Church. Altho unable to attend church of recent months, because of failing health, Mr. Hammel took a keen interest in church up until his death.

Thruout his life, Mr. Hammel was highly esteemed and loved by all who knew him for his many acts of kindness and thoughtfulness for those about him. He always felt a sincere love and showed a kindly interest in children who responded with a trusting love for him.

He was submissively patient during his many months of suffering and maintained his loyal faith in God's goodness.

The services will be held Friday at the residence in charge of Rev. J. M. Tidball, of the Presbyterian church of which Hammel was a member. He held membership also in the Odd Fellows lodge.

Interment will be made at Springdale cemetery with Frank P. Vail acting as funeral director.
