DEATH OF OSCAR HAMMELL

Well Known Resident Died This Morning at King's Daughters Hospital.

Oscar Hammell, aged 60, a well known resident of Madison and Jefferson county, died at six o'clock this morning at the King's Daughters hospital. Mr. Hammell had been ill for several weeks and for the past week had been under treatment at the King's Daughters hospital.

Funeral services have not been definitely decided pending the arrival from Indianapolis of the son, but will probably be held Saturday afternoon.

The decedent was born in this county and with the exception of a few years while he was in Indianapolis in the coal and ice business, was a resident of Madison or Jefferson county. For the past 30 years he had resided in Madison. Mr. Hammell was a member of Monroe lodge of Odd Fellows. Besides the widow, he is survived by a son, Charles, of Indianapolis, and two sisters, Mrs. Cavallo Adams and Miss Sadie Hammell, and a brother, Mr. Harvey Hammell, all of this county.

Mr. Oscar Hammel was taken to the King's Daughters' Hospital last evening for medical treatment. Mr. Hammel has been in ill health for some time. Dr. George E. Denny is the attending physician.

Funeral of Oscar Hammel

Funeral services for the late Oscar Hammel were conducted by Rev. W. S. Rader, pastor of Trinity Church, at the family home on east Second street at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Many friends were present at the funeral and the interment was in Springdale cemetery.
