Clarence E. (Shorty) Gohn 79, of 906 S. Ironwood, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He had been in failing health for several years.

Born on Oct. 18, 1900, in North Liberty, he had lived in the Michiana area most of his life. On Feb. 9, 1918, in St. Joseph, he married Cora Holcomb, who died in June 1959. He later married Verna Holcomb, who also preceded him in death. Several cousins survive.

Friends, may call in the Bubb Funeral Chapel from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Gundar Lamberts, Immanuel Baptist Church pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in South Bend.

Gohn was employed 29 years by Sibley Machine and Foundry Corp. in South Bend, retiring in 1965, and was a member of United Auto Workers Local 183 in South Bend.
