Butch retired from Sonoco Products, Inc., Hanover. He was a 1954 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, McSherrystown. He was a member of the Army National Guard, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, McSherrystown Home Association, McSherrystown Knights of Columbus, McSherrystown Moose, McSherrystown Fish and Game and Hanover AMVETS. He enjoyed socializing at the McSherrystown Home, golfing with his brothers, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are three daughters, Diane L. Kelley and husband Marvin, Jody M. Jacoby and husband Donnie and Jackie K. Staub all of Hanover; five grandchildren, Mark, Melissa and Joe Kelley, Nick Bowers and Jesse Jacoby and six great-grandchildren, Bailey, Bria, Caleb, Evie, Camryn and Brady; three siblings, Urban Staub of McSherrystown, William Staub of Hanover and John Staub of Fairview, IL. He was preceded in death by seven siblings, Robert, James and Joseph Staub, Loretta Livelsberger, Beatrice Neiderer, Mary Topper and Doris Leonard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover with the Rev. Msgr. James Lyons as celebrant. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, McSherrystown.
