Robert J. Staub Sr., of Hanover, entered into eternal rest January 11, in New Oxford.

He was a son of the late Urban and Cora Becker Staub.

Mr. Staub retired from Utz Potato Chip Company after 35 years of service and was a 1937 graduate of Central Catholic High School, McSherrystown. Mr. Staub was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, Hanover.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda C. Lawrence Staub, who departed this life April 30, 1993, and is survived by one son, Robert J. Staub Jr. of McSherrystown; three daughters, Janet S. Altobelli of Silver Spring, MD, Cynthia S. Dunn of Ambler, and Pamela M. Sunbury of Sandwich, MA; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Livelsberger of Edgegrove and Beatrice Neiderer of Bonneauville, and five brothers, James W. Staub of Brushtown, Urban F. Staub and Mark Staub, both of McSherrystown, John H. Staub of Belleville, IL, and William D. Staub of Hanover.

He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Teresa Altobelli; one brother, Joseph Staub, and two sisters, Doris Leonard and Mary Topper.

Interment, with full military honors, was provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard, will be in the St. Vincent Cemetery, Hanover.
