He was born Feb. 14, 1896, in Remson, Iowa, and came to Johnsburg as a child. He married Margaret Heintz at Oshkosh on Nov. 20, 1940. Mr. Schoofs was a time keeper for Rockwell-Standard Co., Oshkosh, until his retirement in 1965.
Surviving are his widow; two brothers, Alex Schoofs of Fond du Lac and John Schoofs of Lafayette, La.; and two sisters, Mrs. Walter Klaus of Clintonville and Mrs. Lawrence Schwartz of Byron.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John’s Catholic Church, Oshkosh with the Rev. Roger McClone officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery, Oshkosh. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Marquardt Funeral Home in Oshkosh.
