Ella Gene Maikell was born on July 23, 1930 in Erath County, Texas. She was the daughter of John Malcolm Box and Zola Alice (Chambers) Box. She was united in marriage to Loyd Douglas Maikell on June 7, 1947, and to this union three children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on October 10, 1989, son, Bobby Maikell in 1992 and grandson, Steven Maikell in 1982.
Gene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Ralph Thomas of Round Rock, Texas; Her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Linda Maikell of Sweet Water, Texas; Her grandchildren - Shadna Wise, Jonathan Maikell, Stephanie Maikell, Damon Maikell and Cody Woods; two great grandchilden and her brother, Johnny Box and a host of other relatives and many friends who will miss her dearly.
