Mr. Box died Jan. 5, 2007, in Rusk.
He was born May 13, 1915, in Dublin to the late John and Zola Box. He was a retired fireman and member of Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by grandchildren, Robert Gililland and Camille Box; sisters, Doreen Box and Loquita Cabe; brother, Joseph T. Box; son-in-law, Lyndel Gililland; and daughter-in-law, Jan Box.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Box, Rusk; children, Ramona Gililland, Smithville, Don "Mickey" Box, Hurst, Marquita Moss, Austin, Melany Shook, Arlington, Tahna Cody, Douglass, John Lee Box, Chantilly, Va., Camille Moore, Buderim, Australia, and Gayle "Dorene" Garza, Ringgold, Ga.; sister, Gene Maikell, Austin; brothers, Madison Box, Midland, and Johnny Box, Fort Worth; 22 grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are elders and deacons of Rusk Church of Christ.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
