Harry Lavern Channer, 90, of Schwenksville, PA passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Southeastern Veterans Center in Spring City, PA. He was the husband of Doris E. (Schneider) Channer with whom he shared seventy-one years of marriage. Born in Cedar Rapids, NE on October 18, 1927, Harry was a son of the late James R. Channer and Margaret C. (Petersen) Channer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Harry W. Channer, husband of Carol, GA; and one daughter, Diana L. Channer, Frederick, PA; three grandchildren, Jennifer Ramey, wife of David, GA; James “Joe” Channer, husband of Nicole, FL; and Kimberly Welch, GA; seven great-grandchildren, Micah, Ava, David, Titus, Wyatt, Emma, and Beau; and one brother, Carroll Channer, husband of Nana, Columbus, NE. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at New Hanover United Methodist Church, 2211 Swamp Pike, Gilbertsville, PA 19525. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Department of Veterans Affairs and mailed to the Coatesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA 19320. In the memo line please include “Hospice Veterans – Harry Channer.” Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte Street, Pottstown, PA 19464 will be handling the arrangements.
