Chester Bogart, Jr., 74, of East Stroudsburg, died Sunday evening, September 16, 2018, as a results of injuries in an auto accident in Stroud Township. He was the husband of Freda (Smith) Bogart with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Born on September 21, 1943 in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late Chester, Sr. and Evelyn (Berger) Bogart and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. 

Chester worked as a serviceman, mechanic and shop foreman for Baylor Motors and Ertle Subaru in Stroudsburg until retiring in 2001 after a total of 38 years of service.

He was a member of The Salvation Army in East Stroudsburg, Fraternal Order of Eagles #1106, and the Ronald Regan Ranch.

In addition to his wife, surviving are a son, Chester Bogart III of East Stroudsburg; two brothers, Donald L. Bogart and Morgan S. Bogart both of East Stroudsburg; sister in law, Jenny Bogart of East Stroudburg; and nieces and nephews. His brother, Ronald C. Bogart died in the same automobile accident; and he was preceded in death by a sister, LouAnn Bogart.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 29, from The Salvation Army, 226 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg; with visitation beginning at 10:00AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery in Shoemakers.
