Miss Ethel Jones, daughter of Mr. J.H. Jones, died at a hospital in Washington, D.C., Monday, following a short illness of influenza and pneumonia.
Miss Jones is quite well known here. She had been employed in the Pension Department since the first of August. Before leaving Wichita she was bookkeeper for the Gibson harness shop on West Douglas Avenue.
She had been ill for a few days only, and her father left for Washington Friday night, soon after he was notified of her condition. He was with her at the time of her death.
Besides her Father and Step-mother Miss Jones is survived by three brothers, Earl, Cleve and Donald , the later being in service in France. four sisters, Mrs. Carl Rice and Misses Dorothy, Rebecca and Sarah Jones. Funeral services will be held from Elbing, Kans. Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock and will be in charge of Reverend Sherman of Wichita.
