Obituary of A Kathryn Haagen, 90 - 01/30/2012
A Kathryn Haagen, 90 of Beech Creek, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2012 at the Lock Haven Extended Care. She was born in Rote, on February 3, 1921, a daughter of the late Walter & Ada McKibben Andrews. She married Joseph Edward Haagen on August 10, 1946 in Blanchard, he survives at home.
Kathryn was a licensed Practical Nurse. Most of her nursing years were spent at the Lock Haven Hospital but she also had worked at the Cherish House in Blanchard & Private Duty Nursing. In here earlier years she had worked at Sylvania & general Armiture. She was a member of the Salona United Church of Christ. She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross and she also helped with Elections at the Beech Creek Twp.
She is survived by four sons; Wayne L. (Mary) Mitchell of Beech Creek, David L. (Linda) Mitchell of Beech Creek, Jay A. Haagen (Linda) and Daniel B. (Carol) Haagen both of Beech Creek. He is also survived by two sisters; Ruth Williams of Laurel Run Bald Eagle, and Helen Holdren of Lock Haven. Eighteen grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson; John Haagen and a step-grandson; Neva Askey.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard at 10:00 a.m. with the Pastor Nancy Kuhns officiating. Friends will be received from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
