Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel for Gladys (Bowlen) Underwood, 85, of Gadsden, who passed away on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018. Burial will follow in Forrest Cemetery.
Gladys attended Kyle Avenue Baptist Church. She was employed at Attalla Health Care for 23 years. She played and loved her steel guitar and dobro. More than anything she loved her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by the father of her children, F.T. Underwood; parents, W.C. and Abby Bearden; three sisters; two brothers; children, Roger Underwood, and Cheryl Kim Allen; grandchildren, Christopher Underwood, and Misty Patton; three great-grandchildren, Kayla Alford, Cameron Allen and Asher Meads.
She is survived by her children, Ronald (Angie) Underwood, Donald (Ramona) Underwood, Vicki (Jim) Bridenbaugh, Pam Underwood, and Melody Templeton; sons-in-law, Bobby Allen, Harold Leverett; 22 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and three due in December; brother-in-law, Wayne (Glenda) Underwood; sisters-in-law, Eloise Crowe and Jean Bearden; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home and Cemetery is in charge of services.
