Born Aug. 19, 1867, in Washington County, he was a son of Lewis and Mary Epler. In 1891, at Cambridge he married Minnie Ross Blackburn, who died Feb. 23, 1957. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are 2 daughters at home, Misses Irene and Grace Epler, Marion school teachers; another daughter, Mrs. Jewel Hanna of 391 E. Church St.; a son, Guy Epler of Centerburg Rt. 2; 5 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Epler was the last of 13 children.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p. m. in the Hughes-Hyll Mortuary. Rev. Irvin W. Emmons will officiate. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after Thursday noon.
