Note 3. He had several children by his wife, Ellie Rowe, and two, Claudie Nix, and Roy Mixon, by Ellie's sister, Nina Rowe, to whom he was not married.

Sometime between 1935 and 1940, inclusive, she became a housekeeper for Stephen Asbury Owens, and later became his wife. Thus, William James Wilder died sometime between the censuses of 1930 and 1940.
