Numan E. Pendleton, 94, Westphalia, died Oct. 5, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born July 6, 1908, in Meta, a son of Irvin and Ollie Frances Evans Pendleton. He was married April 4, 1935, in Meta, to Edna Mae Bilyeu, who survives in Westphalia.

A former Meta resident, he was manager for the Meta Cheese Factory for many years.

He worked for Meta Exchange for 35 years until his retirement.

He was a member of Meta Christian Church.

Other survivors include: one son, Carthel "Pee Wee" Pendleton, Columbia; two daughters, Joyce Fick, St. Louis, and Loas Zimmer, Jefferson City; one brother, Winston Pendleton, Wildwood; two sisters, Cleta Bilyeu, St. Clair, and Amy Champlain, Wildwood; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Meta. The Rev. Manuel Seaton will officiate. Burial will be in Stokes Cemetery near Meta.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to Stokes Cemetery.
