Evelyn “Sis” Eddins Campbell, 94, of Rural Hall, NC, formally of Spartanburg, SC, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2019 at her home. Born in Chesterfield, SC on March 27, 1924, Sis was the daughter of Cull and Laura Eddins. Sis was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, David W. Campbell, her parents, her four brothers, Will, C.B., Edgar and Charles, and her three sisters, Ola Baker, Dolly Moore, and Louise Herndon. Sis was a devoted wife, mama, granny, aunt, and friend to many. Sis always looked forward to spending time with her family and her friends. Sis loved and cared for people all of her life. She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard and growing beautiful flowers. She never met a stranger. She was an amazing story teller and loved sharing about her life growing up with her family and her love of Jesus. Sis will be remembered by her strong faith in Jesus, her joyous and giving spirit, and her laughter. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Linda C. Royall (Edgar), her granddaughter, Michelle Royall, her sister who she loved dearly, Dot Pender, nieces and nephews, great nephews and friends. Her family would like to extend gratitude to the staff and care team at Trellis (Hospice) Supportive Care that cared for Sis and who made her final days comfortable. Her family would also like to give special thanks and love to Mary Rierson, Delores Merritt, Hilda Scott, Eric Stewart, Crystal Wilfong, Vera Williamson, Danielle Germini, Julia and Elsa, Misty Tuttle, and all of the Meals on Wheels volunteers who provided lots of support and brought Sis so much joy, love and laughter. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 16 at the Hayworth Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Chaplain Rick Charles officiating. Burial will be at Forsyth Memorial Park immediately following the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM prior to the service. Sis always said she enjoyed flowers all of her life and asked that in lieu of flowers at her service, memorials be made to Piney Grove Baptist Church, 293 Zoar Road, Chesterfield, SC 29709, Trellis (Hospice) Supportive Care of Stokes County, PO Box 863, Walnut Cove, NC 27052 or a charity of your choice to continue helping other people.
