Mr. Charles William Eddins, age 82, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at his home.
The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment followed in the cemetery at Pine Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Charles W. Eddins was born July 19, 1931 in Chesterfield, SC, a son of the late Cull Little and Laura Freeman Eddins. He graduated from Chesterfield High School and was a former employee of Dilmar Oil Company. Charles was a retired Foreman with the SC DOT. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Charles was a lifelong member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, where he served as former Sunday school teacher, Choir member, and Chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee. In addition to his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by his brothers, Will, C.B. and Edgar Eddins, and by his sisters, Ola Baker and Dollie Moore.
His wife of 30 years, Patsy King Eddins of the home, survives along with one daughter, Sherry Eddins (Todd) White of Snellville, GA and one step-son, Robbie Davis of Chesterfield, SC, plus three grandchildren: Taylor White, Kailey White, and Rob Davis; a great grandchild: Rory White
and three sisters: Evelyn (David) Campbell of Rural Hall, NC, Louise Herndon of Piedmont, SC, and Dot (Gerald) Pender of Chesterfield, SC.
