Hawthorne died at 12:30 p.m. Friday in Schlesinger Geriatric Center in Beaumont. He was a lifelong resident of Roganville and a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Ludie Turner Hawthorne; four sons, Carrol Hawthorne of Fort Worth, Amos Hawthorne of Lufkin, Polk Hawthorne Jr., of Kirbyville and Hollis Hawthorne of Tyler; three daughters, Aline Kelley of Beaumont and Violet Morgan and Marcelle Conlin, both of Orange, and two brothers, Tommy Hawthorne of Roganville and Zora Hawthorne of Port Arthur.
