FORMER FRANKLIN MAN DIED IN VERNA, FLORIDA
SAML. B. ECCLES HAD PLANNED TO RETURN HERE SOON

Friends of S. B. Eccles were shocked this morning to hear of his death at Verna, Florida, where he had lived for a few years. In a letter to friends received here this week, he had made plans to return soon for residence.

Mr. Eccles was at one time in the drug business in Franklin and after disposing of his own business was later connected with other drug firms in Franklin, and was a capable and obliging salesman. Owing to failing health he had lived in Florida for some years. He was born near Greenwood and attended Wabash college at Crawfordsville, was a member of the Presbyterian church, and the Phi Delta Theta fraternity, and a member of Franklin Masonic lodge 107, and the Franklin Commandery.

He was married to Miss Georgia Ritchey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Ritchey, who died several years ago. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Herbert McConnell of Boggstown, and Mrs. J. B. Dill, of Detroit, Michigan, and a brother, Albert Eccles of Greenwood.

Miss Elizabeth Ritchey is a sister-in-law and L. E. Ritchey a brother-in-law.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later when additional information is received.
