June McConnell Rodgers, 90, of Memphis, TN passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2017. June was born in Hickman, KY on June 5, 1927. She moved to Memphis in 1951, graduated from Memphis Business School and began working in the County Trustees Office. In the years that followed, June would become a Kentucky Fried Chicken Franchisee and one of the early investors in Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers. June was a member and volunteer for the St. Josephine Circle, The Variety Club, The Baddour Center, Ave Maria Guild and Sphinx Grand Krewe Carnival where she was Queen in 1982.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Hester Gray McConnell and Ernest Robert McConnell, her brothers, Robert Cecil McConnell, James Edward McConnell, Charles Ernest McConnell, her sisters, Jean McConnell Oberste and Katie McConnell Willis and her daughter, Linda Rodgers Wray. She is survived by her son, Charles Lee Rodgers (Ellen); her grand-children, Andrew M. Wray, IV (Dawn), LeeAnne Wray Kasper (Ken), Shelley Rodgers and Chad Rodgers, Bethany Canale (Adam) and John Flint (Laura). June also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Max, Allison, Eric, Trevin, Lauren and Sydney, Hill, Sterling, Bennett and Charlie, along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. June "Nannie" will forever be remembered for her giving spirit and love for her family.

The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Ave Maria Home for the kindness, support and care they provided.

Visitation will be October 25 from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at the Rotunda at Memorial Park Mausoleum, with a private family service following. In lieu of flowers, June's family request donations to be sent to Immaculate Conception High School "Sisters Scholarship" Fund.
