Laura Marie Coward (1,4,41,218) was born January 24, 1880, the 3rd of 11 children, daughter of William Alvis Coward and Nancy Jane White Coward; she died July 5, 1931; she married Madison Erastus Hinshaw March 23, 1919. Madison was born in 1884; he died September 14, 1953; he was known as “Matt” by his friends and relatives. Matt gave his marriage bond March 22, 1919; J. C. Hinshaw signed with him; he and Laura were married by The Right Reverend M. Bryant; the Bond was for $1,250.00. The marriage license reported Laura as 39 and Matt as 35 years of age.

Laura and Matt were members of the Baptist Church; they were active in their church; they visited the sick. Matt was a farmer all his life; he farmed near St. Clair, Tennessee; they owned the farm; Matt also did a great amount of county road work. Laura loved to sew. Laura and Matt were buried side by side in the old Henshaw cemetery. They had no children.
