Robert Raymond Coward was born July 2, 1894; he died October 21, 1962; he married Maude Adeline Rowland December 19, 1915. Maude was born January 1, 1898; she died December 4, 1947. Raymond gave his marriage bond December 14, 1915; Fred Parvin signed with him; he and Maude were married by James R. Berry, a Justice of the Peace. Raymond was known among friends and relatives as “Gus.” Gus completed the sixth grade; Maude completed the eighth grade in the Hawkins County Schools of Tennessee.

Gus was a farmer; he was also an electrician; he was a high voltage lineman for the T.V.A. They had lived at Newport, Tennessee. Gus loved to hunt and fish. They were both buried at the Coward Cemetery in the country near St. Clair, Tennessee. The children of Gus and Maude were: 2336-Opal Laura Coward; 2337-Nina Ruth Coward; 2338-Raymond Eugene Coward; 2339-Nannie Lou Coward; 2340-Clarence William Coward I; 2341-Margaret Christine Coward; 2342-Betty Jo Coward; 2343-James Rowland Coward.
