Dorene Elizabeth Aslin, 71, of Visalia, died Saturday of cancer at her home.
She was born in Grant, Neb., moved with her family to Exeter in 1928, and to Visalia in 1929. She attended Nickerson Elementary School and was graduated from Tulare Union High School in 1937.
She married Harry Aslin in Bakersfield in 1939. He died in 1985
She was a member of the West Visalia Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school and attended the Ladies Bible Class. She was a volunteer worker for the Hanford Christian Retirement Home. Her hobbies included crocheting, quilting, sewing and upholstering.
She is survived by two sons, William Aslin of Morro Bay and Larry Aslin of Tulare; two daughters, Diane Brown and Sherry Mann, both of Porterville; a brother, Harold Stephenson of Fresno; three sisters, Bernice Epperson of Sacramento, Marie Wheeler of Washington, and Rachel Stevens of Visalia; and seven grandchildren.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Memorial Chapel with burial at Visalia District Cemetery. Friends may call 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the chapel.
