Mrs. Josephine Pecha passed away Thursday morning at her home in Jordan Township, southwest of Chatfield. Funeral services were held from the home Saturday afternoon, Rev. J. D. Gibb of the Presbyterian church officiating. Interment was made in the Chatfield cemetery. Josephine Chermak was born in Bohemia, Austria, April 19, 1840. She was united in marriage to Joseph Pecha in 1869. Ten children were born to this union, four of whom preceded her in death. Those surviving are Joseph, Mrs. Emma Popelka, Adolph, Ed, and Emma at home, and Mrs. H. Chapelle of Spring Valley. She also leaves a brother Frank Chermak of Marka, Kansas, and a sister, Mrs. Frank Dudek of Chatfield.
