After a lingering illness, death relieved from suffering Miss Matilda Pecha, on Sunday evening, Oct. 15th, at her home in Jordan township. Miss Pecha was born March 20th, 1884, in Jordan township, where she spent the greater part of her life. Qualities of steadfastness of character, industry and integrity of spirit, were characteristics of her life. Six years ago, she united on confession of faith with the Washington Presbyterian church and has been in constant member thereof. Prayer was offered at the house at 1 o'clock yesterday by Rev. C. F. Gelger, and the funeral held at the Presbyterian church in Chatfield, Revs. McEwen and Geiger, officiating. Her loss is mourned by her mother, Mrs. Josephine Pecha, three brothers and three sisters, as follows: Joe J., Mrs. Frank Popelka and Adolph, living near here; Emma and Edward at home and Mrs. Henry Capelle of Spring Valley.
