Dolph was the son of William Rogers & Lucy (Fly) Capps. He married Elenor Penelope 'Nellie' Capps, daughter of Henry Capps & Anna Fly. Dolph & Nellie had 9 children: E.A.Louisa, John R.Newton, M.E.Francis, Mary E., Coleman Price, and 4 Infants who died at birth. All the children died either at birth or at a very young age except for Mary E. & Coleman Price; because of the great sorrow in this family, Nellie took Mary E. & Coleman P. and left Dolph to return to Tennessee and live. Dolph lived out his life on his Dolph Capps Farm near Lecoma, MO. and is buried by his 7 young children; his two nephews, William Lemuel & Henry Granville Capps, buried him.
