Ida Belle Bowman Hall, 99, of Doe Run Road, Ararat, died Sunday, February 27, 2000, at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart.

She was born July 20, 1900 in Patrick County and was a daughter of the late Percy and Mary Etta Belton Bowman.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Lee Hall; a son, J.D. Hall; a grandson, Jerrold Hall; seven brothers and a sister.

She was a charter member and the oldest member of Doe Run Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are three daughters: Eunice Puckett of Greensboro, N.C., Hattie Eaton and Perlie Hiatt, both of Mount Airy, N.C.; two sons: Ralph Hall of Ararat and Herbert Hall of Mount Airy; one sister, Vergie Harold of King, N.C.; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held Tuesday at Doe Run Baptist Church with the Revs. Ricky Martin, Rick Byerly and Dwight Sechrist officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Doe Run Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Wade Bowman, Doe Run Church Rd., Ararat, Va. 24053.

Arrangements were by Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
