Post Register (Idaho Falls, ID) | 16 March 2000
MAY - Zina D. LeeMaster Hatch, 93, of May, Idaho, returned to her Heavenly Father on March 13, 2000, at her daughter' s home in Arbon. She was born March 12, 1907, in Moab, Utah, the daughter of Jesse Louis and Sarah Larsen LeeMaster. She married the love of her life, best friend and companion of 54 years, William Marks Hatch in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on October 10, 1932. They raised their family in Boise, Arimo, Pocatello and Pahsimeroi. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and teacher. She was a stalwart member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in branch, ward and stake auxiliaries. She was still a visiting teacher at the time of her passing. She truly endured to the end with happiness and a grateful heart, a great example to her family and friends. She received a Normal Diploma from BYU in 1927 and taught school until she married. At age 52, after her family was raised, she returned to teaching. She graduated from ISU with a BA and high honors in 1963. She taught fifth grade at Hawthorne Elementary until her retirement at age 65. Zina loved to read, quilt, crochet, sew, genealogy and she raised beautiful flowers and gardens wherever she lived. She was an excellent horseback rider and a very good shot. Her family meant everything to her. She is survived by one son, William Lee (Linda) Hatch of Pahsimeroi; three daughters, Geneve (Kent) Dayley, Sylvia (Gordon) Malan, both of Pocatello, CaroLynne (Steve) Lusk of Arbon; one brother, Vernon LeeMaster of Salt Lake City, Utah; three sisters, Donna Johnson and Ruth LeeMaster, both of Provo, Utah, Glennes Nelson of Orem, Utah; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Marks Hatch; two grandsons, Harley Hatch and Brett Lusk; two sisters, Annetta Bernice LeeMaster and Sylvia Cloe LeeMaster; one brother, Devon LeeMaster. Her testimony and example is a legacy she has given her family. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 17, 2000, at 1 p.m. at the Moreland LDS Chapel in Moreland, Idaho, with Ralph Hatch, a nephew, officiating. Interment will be in the Moreland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, March 16, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave., Pocatello, and on Friday one hour prior to services at the church in Moreland.
