Marriage of Mrs. Mattie Jarrett and Mr. R. F. Goodson Last Thursday Evening

Mr. R. F. Goodson and Mrs. Mattie Jarrett were married last Thursday evening, April 1st, at 8 o’clock, at the residence of the bride, on Green street, Rev. Dr. Leith, pastor of the Morganton Methodist church, performing the ceremony.

There were between fifty and seventy five of the friends of the bride and groom present, and we have never witnessed a prettier wedding. A large number of handsome and costly presents were received.

The bride is a daughter of the late L. F. Warlick, who was one of the most prominent men of Burke in his day. She is one of the handsomest women of the county and numbers her friends by the score.

The groom is a member of the firm of Ward & Goodson, successful Morganton liverymen, and is a man of many fine traits. He is a native of McDowell county, having been reared near Old Fort, of humble but highly respected parentage.

The Herald, in wishing the bride and groom all possible happiness and prosperity through life, only voices the sentiment of all our people.
