WINNFIELD, LA - Services for Mr. J. C. Brooks, Jr., 74, will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 1990 in the Chapel of Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield. Officiating will be Dr. Calvin Phelps. Burial will be in Garden of Memories in Winnfield.
Mr. Brooks died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 2, 1990 at the Humana Hospital in Winnfield. He was a native of Winnfield and a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Brooks was owner of Brooks Enterprises Inc., Brooks Pontiac and Brooks Timber Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Olive Barnard Brooks of Winnfield and one son, Jimmy D. Brooks of Orange Park, Florida.
He is survived by two sons, Donald G. Brooks, Sr. of Natchitoches, La. and Richard L. Brooks of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Lucille B. Taylor of West Monroe, La. and seven grandchildren.
